The East city, pre End Date it was the largest city on the continent, now it is simply a huge echoing steel and concrete jungle controlled in theory by various warring factions. The control is only theoretical in so far as that none of the factions can effectively control nearly as much territory as they would claim. There are no overarching rulers and huge swathes of the city are entirely abandoned or only home to the occasional scavenger of refugee.
